A rugged and highly prolific plant. 0 on the Scoville scale. For a more prolific plant prune off the first pepper to emerge prior to maturity. For best tasting peppers wait until the fruit is 90-100% red.

Beans, peas - Peppers are heavy feeders and pairing with legume varieties that enrich the soil will do them well
Lettuce, salad mix – These low-to-the-ground varieties both maximize garden space and are light feeders, complimenting both pepper’s size and tendency to pull a lot of nutrients from the soil
Marigolds – a repellent for some of the pests that bother peppers
